Deven Stross, owner of Deven Stross Photography is a graduate of the Hallmark Institute of Photography.

Deven’s experience in the world of photography began some 20 years earlier. "Upon graduation from High-school I bought myself a 35 mm Canon and a flight to Hawaii. A more beautiful beginning one would be hard pressed to find."

The earliest days of photography were a little intimidating for Deven. “I pretty much focused on landscapes at first; people were too intimidating and a landscape is never disappointed. Then a good friend asked me to photograph her wedding; I couldn't say no. For the month prior I read up on technique, equipment, and film. I also lost a lot of weight from stress. When the event finally came, I had more fun than anyone should be allowed."

Deven finally realized his dream and entered the Hallmark Institute. Although the program itself is an intense 10 months, known to many as the "Boot camp" of Photography Institutes, Deven states: "Hallmark opened a whole new world for my creative energies. Getting solid training in the technical and business side of Photography allowed my imaginative side total freedom to play and create."

Since graduation Deven has focused on working with people, both portrait and commercial. "I've been given an incredible gift in the middle of my life! To chase a dream, catch it, and now watch it grow and flourish is an unbelievable dream come true."
